I was lucky enough to have a series of my images featured on screen during the Melbourne Rainbow Band's concert "Human Nature".
The MRB (www.mrb.org.au) is a 20 year old LGBTI community concert band.
An image was displayed for each piece, seeking to visually convey the emotion contained in the music. It was such a thrill seeing my images on a massive screen behind a 40 piece concert band!
This image was taken during set up, can't wait to get my hands on a shot during the concert!
As part of the concert, I held my first exhibition. I had these prints available for purchase, and the rest of my catalogue available for order.
Really not knowing what the reception would be like, I was so honoured to have sold 10 prints on the night!
My first sale was to the wife of the composer, in the audience, of one of the works being performed that night. This was my first ever face to face sale. It's such a beautiful feeling to have someone discuss and appreciate your work in real life.
Thank you to all the wonderful audience members who saw something that spoke to them.
Half of the sales on the night were donated to the band.
