I've recently had an older camera converted to infra-red. This involves removing the glass filter in front of the camera sensor and replacing it with a sensor that blocks out all visible light and only lets the infra-red spectrum through.
Images come out of the camera in completely red, white and black tones. They require a lot of post processing, and result in eerie 'false colour' images, or stunning black and white images that look 'different'. Different substances reflect infra-red light differently to normal light. Most often this is seen in green foliage, which reflects as almost white.
Please think of these as works in progress as I develop my technique!
Look for these images in the projects section of my portfolio.
