Victoria's iconic 12 Apostles in the early morning. Captured just after the sun has risen, sunlight spills across the giant limestone stacks.

Gog & Magog are 2 of the 12 Apostles, and stand to the east of the 12 Apostles lookout. The beach is accessible via the Gibson Steps, which allows for some great images of these towering limestone sea stacks. This image was taken using fallen rocks from the cliff face to frame Gog, and a long exposure was used to smooth the waves and create beautiful horizontal streaks from the sea spray.

Loch Ard Gorge is one of the most popular spots along the Great Ocean Road, just down from the 12 Apostles. This birds eye view is taken from the cliffs above the symmetrical cove. The cove is named after the ship Loch Ard that sunk in 1878, with only two survivors - Tom and Eva, both 19 years old.

These two limestone stacks are named after the shipwreck survivors of the 1878 Loch Ard shipwreck. Until recently an arch joined these two formations, collapsing in 2009. This image was taken on a misty and overcast, full of wonderful atmosphere. I wonder what it would have been like for the two 19 year olds swimming to shore in mist like this, would they have found their way?

The Cape Nelson Lighthouse was completed and switched on in 1884, and since that time served as a warning to the treacherous rocks. Up until this time there was a high risk of shipwrecks on the Adelaide to Melbourne route. Magic Rock is a dramatic limestone rock near Warnambool that has been steadily eroded over aeons. Pounded by ocean waves, it's days are numbered! This is in a relatively secret spot off any easily accessible roads, and is quite an effort to reach. Luckily this dramatic scene makes the effort worthwhile!

Teddys Lookout is a scenic lookout in Lorne on Victoria's Great Ocean Road. Peering out to the west, the lookout covers views of the surf, ocean, the mouth of the Saint George River, and the road curving around the headland. This makes a great spot to watch the sunset, and also to capture light trails from the cars coming into and out of Lorne. This image is a composite of the sky and sea a few moments after sunset, coupled with the road and light trails from an hour or so later once darkness had set in.

Dragon's Head on the Number 16 Beach in Rye is an icon on the Mornington Peninsula. This dramatic rock is accessible at low tide, when the rock shelf appears from under the waves. A long exposure has been used to emphasise the cascading falls down to the rockpool below.
