One of Hong Kong's famous Star Ferries crosses Victoria Harbour, while locals and tourists lining the docks escape the Summer heat.

There are still a few old Chinese Junks plying their trade on Victoria Harbour. Well, not really OLD. These are quite modern and take regular tourist cruises. This shot was taken during the famous HK waterfront light show. I still love the contrast between the 'old' and new on this shot.

Taken from Lugard Rd on Victoria Peak, I was treated to an amazing sunrise. Only a day after typhoons threatened the city, powerful clouds were still moving through the region. The sun rose behind these clouds backlighting them with amazing pink and peach colours.

In Hong Kong, land is scarce. A stadium like cemetery rises up the hill and looking out over the water. A favourable aspect for departed family.

Rows of Incense and torches line the walls of the Man Mo Temple in Hong Kong. Smokey blue natural light gives way to the red and orange of the lanterns.

Temple Street Night Market is famous in Hong Kong. Full of trinkets, clothes, electronics and household goods, it's a riot of colour, noise and movement. Wanting to get another perspective, I climbed to the top of a nearby parking lot to capture a view from above. The market seems to stretch off to infinity. A line of colour surrounded by drab apartment blocks.

Visiting Lantau island on an overcast day, Buddha towered over the trees and the gloomy, atmospheric clouds.

A market district in Hong Kong. Ten story apartment blocks are lined with stores and street stalls selling all kinds of products. Each area sells similar products, so that you could visit the fabric area, the hardware area or the electronics area. In the late afternoon, with the sun still high in the sky, shoppers on their way home were beginning to slowly drip out of nearby subway stations and make their way along the stalls.

For those who know, Aberdeen St in Hong Kong is LONG and STEEP. This is a great image that captures pedestrians toiling up the hill ... SLOW!

A beautiful image showing the old Hong Kong living in the shadows of gleaming office towers and air-conditioned boutiques. This uncle is having a slow, late lunch in the oppressive humidity of summer. His printing press store seems like it is a relic from another time, and that the city has grown up around it. Old notices, printing press, ink and paper are piled up just as they could have been 100 years ago. In the surrounding streets, businessmen, teenagers, tourists and locals throng between restaurants, coffee shops, malls and office towers.

A local butcher in the Sham Shui Po district of Hong Kong. The city's street and electronic market area. I happened to catch this butcher out of the corner of my eye as we were walking past. I love the austere clean(ish) white surfaces offset by the vibrant red and pink of the hung meat.
