Sacre Coeur taken at sunrise in Montmarte, Paris.

The stunning Notre-Dame Cathedral shot from the banks of the Seine. Parisians linger on the banks in the warm afternoon air.

Walking along the banks of the Seine in the golden hour after sunrise, I glanced up and saw the Eiffel Tower perfectly framed between the trees. Early morning sun lights up one side of the amazing structure. This is such a beautiful shot that came from a moment of serendipity.

I could not believe how busy the Trocadero was at night. Early in the morning it's another matter! This shot was taken just as the sun began to rise, when the clouds were for a brief moment illuminated in a stunning pink and before the crowds arrived.

The Institut de France is the 'Protector of Arts, Literature and Science’, and houses 5 academies including the oldest public library in France.

One of the entrances to the Louvre courtyard and it's pyramids. This entrance provides a great opportunity to play with light and silhouette as visitors move through the dark passage and into the light of the courtyard.

The Louvre is the most famous museum in the world. Love it or hate it, the pyramid in the courtyard, and the fountains provide a great opportunity to play with composition. Here I have focussed on sharp angles, reflections and leading lines, against century old buildings in the background.

A little boy in red had gotten up early enough to make it into the shot :)

Taken from the Sacre Coeur Dome, this is one of my favourite shots from Paris. Looking out over the city towards the Eiffel Tower, I noticed some of these little locks in the stone work. This one has an etching of the Eiffel Tower and love hearts. A perfect sentiment as I gazed over the city in contentment!

Le Mont-Saint-Michel is an island and mainland commune in Normandy, France. It is one of the most unforgettable sights in France. It was built when the bishop of a nearby town claimed that the Archangel Michael himself pressured him into having a church built atop the island just out to sea. This fairytale edit evokes the fantasy idea of a magic castle out in the sea.
